If you suffer from muscle pain it is important to recover. Your muscles need rest and time to recover. A muscle group takes up to 2 to 3 days to fully recover. Therefore, take sufficient rest, but keep moving if possible. Sleep also helps to recover faster. A good night’s sleep means 7 to 8 hours of sleep, to recover properly.
Heat improves ensures better blood flow in your muscle tissue. Better blood flow allows you to recover faster, as waste is drained from your muscles more quickly and new blood cells are fed with oxygen to the muscles. Therefore, take a hot shower or go in a hot bath.
Proteins ensure growth of strong muscles and their maintenance. Protein for example, is found in beef, cottage cheese and of course eggs. These support the recovery of muscle pain after overload and thus also help in the build-up of your muscles. An average person needs about 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight in a day. That equates to 60 grams for a 75-pound person.
People with high stress have less ability to recover. This is because stress has a negative impact on the ability to recover. To reduce stress, it is important that you build enough rest moments in your day. Yoga, for example, is an excellent way to relax body and mind.
